Feinere Mandantenrechte

ISM allows only administrators to register ISM-wide resources. Node or rack is a resource for the entire ISM. Operators can manipulate resources in the group to which they belong.

With ISM V 2.9.0.030 (and later versions), it is possible to add a regular user to the ISM Administrator group in the Admin role. This user can add and delete nodes. Now, you can assign this user to the appropriate user group in your organization.

For further information we recommend to refer to ISM User Guide, chapter 2.1 "Functions of ISM".

With this information we are going to set this request to status: will not implement

After further internal discussions (sorry for the delay) we came to the conclusion that the administrator of an ISM instance should own the privilege to decide for adding and deleting nodes for this instance.

Please let us know whether this will work for you situation. Thank you.

Thank you Detlev Freund for this idea. We understand that it would be useful to have an operator role in ISM with the permision to register and delete nodes. Currently only the ISM admin role has the permission to register and delete nodes. We will consider this as a future improvement.
