A precise recommendation is requested for driver and FW version.
This Change Request will be refused.
For a precise recommendation about driver and FW version a dedicated, qualified QA team and proper hardware (Server, LAN Switches, Storage systems) must be available to run necessary tests with several SAP HANA versions and several operating systems. This additional effort is not covered by the SHC team and not covered by the money we earn via the solution contract.
Currently we are using a manually created and maintained Support Matrix (SUMA) where we list the versions of several supported components used in a PRIMEFLEX for SAP HANA environment. The SUMA contain an evaluation if a listed version contain a HANA relevant fix (0=no_bug 1=minor_bug 2=critical_bug). Beside the up-to-dateness this evaluation will be used when we calculate the result/color for a version in the SHC report. This evaluation is not assured by a QA. It is only an estimation we made based on the description from a new version. Such a description is part of our SUMA. To assist a customer and a TAM we list the description together with the version information so it can be decided to update to a newer version.
From a ESXi server we currently only support reporting the ESXi version, the build number and some minor hardware detail (Base Board).
From a virtual machine we currently report no information about driver and firmware versions. Drivers are provided by VMware. They can be integrated in the OS by the OS vendor. Some drivers may be installed/updated additionally manually via VMware tools ISO image or openvm-tools. You also have to take care for the virtual hardware version which is defined by the used ESXi version.
To provide a proper manually SUMA (as described above) for VMware drivers in the OS or the ESXi server, the necessary updates for the data collection and the analysis is a large effort and not covered by the income from the solution contract.
