With the Eternus NU200 not coming and the Eternus entry-level systems being phased out, we need something to compensate for the loss of the AF250 and soon the DX200 with storage cluster functionality.
Therefore it would be great to have at least the ASA systems available as OEM systems in Europe. Eternus AB/HB (OEM E-Series) can do mirroring, but not transparent failover. So it is not comparable.
Thank you very much for those insights.
To be honest it's quite a complex approach to run an OEM model in parallel to reselling partner business, because it will not resolve the competition situation. As a matter of fact, it will rather make the situation worse, even if we have better pricing conditions.
We will not have to have a deal registration at NetApp (which makes us faster), BUT that leads to other NetApp partners getting the deal registration, enabling them to get better pricing. In the worst case, the pricing of the competition will be better than our fixed OEM conditions. So it's a very narrow commercial path that we need to navigate.
Right now, this is not on our roadmap and we do not have plans to introduce an OEM model with NetApp. Nevertheless, we will keep your suggestion in mind and consider if there is any way to make this a win-win approach for all parties.
The reason is: it is much easier to reach the price point we could achieve with AF and DX with FTS internal OEM pricing. This at least is my impression from the AB/HB field. On top it is always challenging to have 4 parties at the table instead of 3. Especially in the long run. We are FTS only partner - at least for DC equipment. And we would like to stay.
Hi, thank you very much for getting in contact with us.
We can offer original NetApp systems together with certified Fujitsu Services. Let me clarify what is the advantage for you selling Fujitsu OEM systems instead of original NetApp systems?
